SSTN NOTES:
* Happy New Year's Everyone!! Please pray for me this coming year that I would be able to continue to meet the needs of this network. ALSO, I am still seeking a bulk-email service that can accommodate SSTN. PLEASE pray this will happen SOON!! I desperately need the help. On another note, if you're interested in reading what the Sun-Sentinel Newspaper of south Florida wrote about my Chrismon book and ministry, copy and paste this URL to your browser:

Blessings to all!! Sarah Keith - Your moderator.
I want to start by saying thank you for this newsletter. I'm a new reader and am enjoying the ideas tremendously. I have an idea for this coming
year. I believe prayer is key in a Christian's life. I have junior church (3-9 yrs) once a month (the first weekend) and am challenged by the ages.
However, I know God can overcome all things and through Him, I can do all things, for His glory and honor.
I have created a calendar which I'll distribute each first of the month. This month is January 2001 and at the top left corner the date and year.
Then the children have a place for their name and a prayer request they
might have for the entire year. Under that in column format, there is an area for thanking God for what He has done for us. At the top there is an
area for the children to draw or color a picture for that month and under
that is the calendar with boxes for each day. The daily boxes is where the children will write someone or something they will pray about all that day.
To get started, I have already written on the Sundays to pray for our church and church family and on Wednesdays to pray for Awana and World Outreach.
Then, under all of that is an area to write where God answers prayer.
I think the children will love to hang this on their wall or refrigerator and work with their parents daily to focus on one thing all day and keep in
constant prayer. I hope God will use this to show children that God does
answer prayer and He is real to us.
I hope others will enjoy this idea - the initial idea came from Franklin Graham's prayer journal. Thank you, Mr. Graham and Jesus for the ideas and
insight. In Christ's Love, Ann Quandt, Orlando, Florida.

2) Carving a pumpkin
Several months ago someone wrote in about carving a pumpkin with their sunday school and that they also send scripture home with the children after carving the pumpkins. I would really appreciate a copy of this and the scripture that was used. I was talking with my pastor and he was interested in seeing this. Thank you and I do enjoy your emails. It has really helped me with my group of children 3rd through 5th graders. God Bless and may you all have a safe & Happy New Year. My email address is: marthaelgin@aol.com

3) Christmas with the 'Right Family'
Hi, my name is Sylvia and I teach youth in San Antonio,TX . For Christmas we always have the youth put all the gifts together, # them and then they pick a # and that is the gift they take home. This year I tried out Christmas with the Right Family which was in Vol 1 Number 130 - it was great. We first had to make sure the youth knew which was their right hand and which was their left. They had a good time with the game. I have forwarded your site to all the teachers and my friend in OK, and at work. Thanks for the great info you provide.

5) "JESUS" plaques?
I am looking for instructions on how to make the "JESUS" plaques where you place wood dowell pieces onto a piece of wood. If you look at it one way it's just a jumble of wood dowells, but if you focus your eyes you can see the name "JESUS". I hope you can help me. Sue Rogers
