1) Journey to the Cross - Stages of the Cross
This suggestion is going to date me a bit. Remember Burma Shave signs?
These advertising signs were popular from 1925 to 1963. The signs were
placed at intervals along highways, with each one showing a line from a
4-part rhyme, with the last sign usually reading "Burma-Shave". Wouldn't
it be a great way to tell the Lenten-Easter story to our surrounding
communities? We could make similar signs with the message of Easter
printed on them. Then place them along the roadways in front of our church
properties!
If you'd like to read some of the 4 part rhymes I've come up with, click
on the "Journey to the Cross" link from the Object Lessons and Sermons
page of the site:
http://www.christiancrafters.com/sermons.html
Your SSTN Moderator,
Sarah Keith <><
P.S. I can barely remember those signs! ;o))

2) Easter Butterflies
We did this a couple years ago at our church and it was very meaningful. I
ordered caterpillars from "Earth's Birthday Project." If you let them know
when you want them to open they will time it so you get them at the
appropriate stage. You can visit them at www.earthsbirthday.org. Hope it
works out well for you. W. Austintown United Methodist Church

3) Old VBS material
I am currently looking for any old VBS kits or just teachers' manuals for
us to use in Backyard Bible Clubs this summer. I checked with a local
Christian bookstore, and they did help some. I will gladly pay postage if
anyone can help.
(I absolutely love this e-newsletter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
Thanks,

4) Nail & Wire Craft?
My name is Crystie, and I hope someone can help. Many years ago in VBS my
brother made a craft that I am now looking for. I don't know exactly what
it's called but I will try to do my best to describe it. You take a
pattern and follow the pattern by hammering nails into a piece of wood.
Then you take thin wire and and follow the directons weaving the wire
around the nails... and you end up with a 3-d type of picture. My brother
did a horse, but I'm sure there are alot of other patterns out there as
well. I haven't seen this done in a long time but I hope someone can
direct me to where I can find these patterns. Many thanks!

5) Attracted to Jesus craft?
We are in charge of the youth church program the month of April. Our
lesson for the first Sunday is to be how the youth will discover how we
are attracted to Jesus because of his wonderful, loving characteristics.
The bible verse is James 4:8.
I was wandering if you could think of a special craft that we could do or
if you know of any web-sites that might help me out.
Thank you for your time

7) Our Position In Christ?
I am teaching a 6th grade Jr. High girls Bible Study in which this weeks
lesson is on their position in Christ (Romans 8:1-11;8:31-39). Do you
have any craft, game, or skit ideas to help get the idea across?
Thank you so much!

8) Children's Church materials?
Dear Sarah Keith,
I understand that I am to send any questions etc to you. I appreciate
your website. I found your website as I was "surfing" the internet
looking for Children's Church resources. I am currently taking a class
on Teaching Techniques through our church, and am looking for certain
materials that don't seem to exist. I am looking for the old style
Character Building Children's church materials. They need to be in the
KJV, and I was wondering if you knew of a place to get these kinds of
materials, or of a place where one could get these second hand (perhaps
they are finished with them and are willing to give or sell them). I
would appreciate any help that I can get on this. Thank you.
Sincerely,
Janna Phelps

9) Portuguese resources?
Our church is going on a mission trip to Brazil & I was hoping to find
Childrens' puppet skits on tape in Portuguese so that we could bring the
gospel message to the children there on the site. Can you help?
Thanks - In Christ - Marsha

11) Christmas tree to Cross
>>I was curious if you know of a craft in which smaller limbs from the
>Christmas tree are used to make crosses---the idea being to "connect" the
>>Christmas baby to Jesus of Good Friday/Easter. ...
During a Good Friday Service many years ago the congregation including
children were asked to meditate as they put together two small pieces of
wood using red wool wound around the cross-section. I still have my cross.

12) Creation
Hello :)
I'm new to this, so I don't know if anyone has mentioned "Answers In
Genesis." This is an excellent resource for Creation stuff. They have a
Creation Museum they are building.I have seen their books also, they are
really nice. I believe they have something for every age group. The
website is really insightful, it can even be viewed in several languages.
Here is the US one:

Hope this helps... :)In His care,
Tammy
