1) Baseball Skit
There's a song that can be sung to the tune of "Take me out to the ball game."
It's from Psalm 40:1,2 and goes like this:
He took me out of the Piiiit,
And from the mirey clay,
He set my feet upon a rock,
Establishing my waaaay,
He put a song in my mooooouth,
Our God to magnify!
And he'll take!, take!, take!, me someday,
To his home on high!
You could even be knocking the mud off your shoes with the bat, getting set at the plate,
tapping the base, look down the baseline toward first, point to the centerfield bleachers,
whatever.
A skit could be about how the things of this world are temporary, and whenever we are
in ourselves we find nothing good, but because we are men, women, or children it happens, but when we put our eyes on God, he can begin to take us out of whatever we
are in. God gives us a future, and takes us out of our past. He will establish us as we keep on in life through him because of Jesus. There are times in life for rejoicing even as
there will be troubles. God is always able and willing to move us on to better things in him. As we keep our eyes on him, he will teach us. We do have an eternal future and a
place in heaven because of Jesus. When we get to heaven we will know that we got there
all because of him.

2) Baseball Skit
You could begin with the classic baseball skit by Abbot and Costello, Who's on First?
http://www.phoenix5.org/humor/WhoOnFirstTEXT.html
Then talk about how God
resolves our confusion once we become his child and begin growing in him.
|
3) Children's Ministry Foundational Themes
Essential themes and lessons that children should learn while under our care are:
Knowing God's Commandments.
Understanding our sin problem.
How to deal with our sin, namely salvation which is found in no other name than Jesus.
Christian growth/discipleship: Bible study, prayer, witnessing.
Heroes of the Faith
Jesus' Life and Ministry

4) Baseball ideas
Check out this book Things My Father Taught Me through Sports ... Playing
the Game of Baseball by Chris Maiocco for some help with the Baseball ideas for Christian Baseball Skits. It does not have skits in it but it does have
a lot of things to do with baseball accompanied with bible verses and God's words of encouragement and equating our lives to getting ready to play baseball.

6) Children, Go Where I Send Thee
> We are on a very tight budget ...Does anyone have any ideas for crafts, activities involving FEET?
I've seen footprint molds made in sand. The teachers filled a small wading pool on the sidewalk with damp sand, kids stuck one foot in, then the teacher poured plaster-of-Paris
in and added a metal pop tab loop for hanging later. I just saw some cool Crayola sand for crafts in the garden section at our local
Wal-mart.

7) Christian Baseball Skits
Lifeway had a sports VBS a few years ago called "Game Day Central." Check their website VBS forum to see if anyone has any materials left over.

8) Children, Go Where I Send Thee
I made two large foot-shaped posters with the words to "Walking With Jesus", a children's chorus that has been around for a while. We had contest singing--boys against girls. The kids loved it and it was a great way to end the evening at VBS.

9) Leaves Lesson?
We would really value your help please:
We recently saw an article where leaves of various sizes/types were put on a table. The children each selected a leaf which they liked, examined the leaf very carefully then put the leaf back on the table. A story was told as to how precious and unique we each are to God. The children later went back to the table to see if they could remember which was their selected leaf.
Our thanks in anticipation.
Blessings
