Children's Drama Ministry

Summer programming can be challenging; children come and go each week for vacations and the number of children attending drama masks-tragedy comedy can fluctuate greatly. Bible lessons need to stand-alone and not be dependant on the prior week for context. It's also a good idea to change up your lessons from regular programming so kids anticipate the summer lessons and are eager to attend! With this in mind, I wrote Lights, Camera, Action Bible Skits.

What I've pleasantly discovered is that many churches use the skits for children's programming throughout the year, such as did the Greensburg Church of the Nazarene, in Greensburg, KY. Check out the pictures, below, of the background set they created using the patterns included in the Gospel of Mark Bible Skits. Didn't they do an excellent job?  Click the picture to watch a short video of the children acting on their faith!

Thank you Greensburg Church of the Nazarene for sharing your story with SSTN. It's an encouragement to my ministry to hear how your ministry has been helped!

Does your church offer an alternative to regular children's programming during the summer (other than a VBS program)? If so, we'd love to hear what you do! Please share your ideas to inspire other ministries!

Do you have an idea to share, a comment, or a suggestion? Please send us a message, we'd love to hear from you!
