1) Teacher Recruitment

This is not really a skit, but it is very effective.  We did a slide show
of children, you could do video.  We used the song from One Way Street
"Who Will Teach The Children," (it is on a tape that is full of songs good
for recruitment and also appreciation).  Seeing the pictures of the
children (we used kids in Ss and also everyday pictures in the park,
etc.), while listening to the words "Who will teach the children, ...
won't you let it be you this year," really touches people and draws them
in.

2) Last supper ?

I would like to have a special activity for my SS class (ages 6-8) for
Easter. I thought I would do the last supper and then go through the
crucifixion and resurrection. Does anyone have any ideas of what I could
do
(menu for supper, activities). Thanks for your help.

--from SSTN: Check out: "An Easter Presentation" in the SKITS section of
the site. There you'll find the elements of the Passover Seder which Jesus
was observing during his "Last Supper". You'll find the link on this page:

3)  Danielle Ward's "God Can"?

I'm going to make these with my fifth grade class in the near future.  I
need some ideas in using the can.  I've thought of adding prayers to it,
but our Religious Ed director already utilizes a "prayer can" at our
opening prayer service each week.  Does anyone have any brilliant
suggestions for our "God Cans"?
Thanks,  <(((><  Heidi/New York

section of the site:  http://www.christiancrafters.com/page6.html

4) Mark of the beast?

I recently started teching sunday school. I am teaching the 8 years old
and up. This past sunday one of the kids in my class was asking me about
the Mark of the beast. I really wasn't sure what to tell him but, I would
like to give him some information on it. Can anyone help me?? He is 11.
Thank you, Mary Ann

--from SSTN: you'll find the Bible reference in Revelation 13:11-18. There
are many other references to the beast in Revelation. If you get your
hands on an exhaustive concordance it's easy to find them. As to the
meaning of the mark, this could become a hotly debated issue. However, the
easiest way to describe this, (in my opinion of course) is to explain that
in the end times, which could even be now, this verse indicates that in
order to even buy or sell anything people would be required to have an
identifying mark to do their business. However, this "beast mark" is not
something Christians should take on because of its association with the
Evil One.

5)  May King and Queen?

I want to have a May King and Queen Day at our Church.  If anyone can give
me and suggestions or help with this I would greatly appreciate it.  We
are a small Church.  Thanks.

6) Christian Comics?

Hello! I am knew here, but stumbled upon the archive section by doing a
search. Unfortunately, I couldnt find any replies to the question the lady
asked in it.
I was wondering if anyone knows where Christian comic books can be ordered
from? I am particularly interested in the Barbour comics. I somehow have
one of them in my possesion, but not sure where it came from... I think it
would be a wonderful rescourse to have for my teachings. thank you in
advance,  Paulette-Ocala, Florida

7) Awards/Rewards

This is actually a reply to my own question.  I was in need of ideas for
awards/rewards for kids ages Kindergarten-6th grade. There are Bible
Trading Cards (The Great Adventure Trading Cards) that the kids can
collect or trade.    You can get the inexpensive card collectors sheets (
I have seen these at the Dollar Trees
for $1/10 sheets).    Be careful....you need to research what you are
buying.   Some of these "Bible" cards are really hiding other messages in
the cards.    Hope I can help someone else who may have been having the
same problem that I was having.    By the way, for the girls, we are using
charm bracelets.       Trevia/N.C.

8) Attracted to Jesus craft

>>attracted to Jesus because of his wonderful, loving characteristics.

Suggestion:  What about some sort of craft featuring a bee and a flower?
The idea could revolve around the bee (representing us) attracted to the
flower (Jesus) for it's beauty (purity/sinlessness) and life-giving sweet
nectar (the Word of God), or something like that....just brainstorming as
I
type!  The possibilities are endless.
Good Luck!

9) Free translation site

Please be cautious in recommending the Freetranslation site.  I
know it does a very poor job on Spanish and you could be truly
laughed at if you translate your material and find out the people
think it is anything but friendly and readable.  I would
recommend you find a Missionary located in that area and ask if
they could help out with translation......or a near- by college
with international students.  You will be amazed at the ministry
it can open up in your area if you just advertise for a
translator in your local newspaper.  You will have to
pay.......but you are investing in someone's life HERE while in
the process of investing in lives abroad.

10) The Holy Trinity---saint patricks day?

i teach kindergarten and have to have my students participate in the first
friday mass in march.  i plan on doing the holy trinity to incorporate st.
patrick
theme but wondered if there is a simple craft we could also incorporate
for my students since they are too young to read at the mass, etc.
something symbolic,any suggestions/ideas/etc.????
thanks

--from SSTN: St. Patrick used a shamrock leaf to explain the Trinity. He
would hold the leaf up and say to his congregation, "Is this one leaf or
three? "It is one!" he would exclaim.  "In the same way, God is three in
one." The kids could make shamrock place mats or even picture frames with
the child's pic at the center of the leaf, or use many leaves overlapping
around a frame.  ysic, sarah <><

11) Nail and Wire Craft

Hi.  We had done something similar in girl scouts with map pins and yarn,
using a cardboard background, or straight pins and colored string, using a
styrofoam sheet. Of course, this was ages ago.  However, the images were
traced from a child's coloring book and then pinned onto the surface.  Any
simple drawing was easily done.  Using yarn or string, you can variegate
the color scheme.  Commonly, I have seen sailboats, rainbows, sunsets,
etc.  I had forgotten all about it until I read your message.  I hope this
helps.

God Bless.
Kathy

12) Attracted to Jesus craft

Just a thought--you might try a craft with magnets.  (Make sure you have
the polarities so that two magnets attract.)  Example:  Make a large
stand-up cardboard Jesus with a magnet at His heart, and let each youth
make a clothespin doll (or something) with a magnet on it's heart.  Some
good sources for cheap or free magnets:  All those free advertising
magnets that came in the mail and are covering your fridge (you can even
cut them up into shapes--like hearts--to glue on something), the magnet
weights inside the bottom of old shower liner curtains, and the magnet
strip inside the door seal on an old fridge that's being disposed of.

Good luck,
Dana in St. Clair Shores, MI
(soon to be from Cincinnati, OH)
