1) Traffic Signal Cookies

Check out these easy-to-make Traffic Signal Cookies on our Pinterest page. They're a great food craft idea to add to our
Signs of the Times Bible curriculum
. Rather than baking, which isn't convenient for class time anyway, spread chocolate icing on graham crackers, and then top with red, yellow, and green candies to create your traffic signal. No need for a stick either. Eat and enjoy.

2) Mini-Lighthouse Object Lesson

For those teaching the Lighthouse lessons, here's a "mini-lighthouse" photograph and Bible point you may want to add to your lessons: Begin by showing children the "mini lighthouse" and then a standard-sized lighthouse. Ask children to name the differences between the two lighthouses (e.g. size, weaker/brighter light, shape, position on shore/water, etc.)

This "mini-lighthouse" isn't as big as a standard-sized one, and doesn't shine as brightly either, but it serves a useful purpose: to point the way to safety through a rocky inlet.

When we first become followers of Jesus, we receive the Holy Spirit*, but we're not fully grown up in our faith; we're sort of like a mini-lighthouse. It takes time to become like Jesus. But we can still be useful in God's kingdom, by pointing the way to safety in Jesus.

Discuss:

How do we grow to become more like Jesus? (Receive answers. By reading and obeying God's Word, spending time thinking about our friendship with God, worshipping him, praying to him, going to church, etc.) And as we become more like Jesus, his light shines brighter and brighter so that others can see him living in us!

How do we point the way to safety in Jesus? (Receive answers. By telling our friends about Jesus, sharing God's Word, bringing friends to church, and by the way we treat others, showing kindness, love, unselfishness, patience, etc.)

*Romans 8:9.

3) Piggyback Song: God Sent Manna Song

(Sung to the tune of London Bridges.)

God sent Manna falling down.
Falling down, falling down.
God sent manna falling down
For-his-people.

God sent manna day-by-day.
Day-by-day, day-by-day.
God sent manna day- by-day.
For-his-people.

God sent Manna from on high.
From on high, from on high.
God sent Manna from on high.
For-his-people.

They scooped it up with both their hands,
Both their hands both their hands.
They scooped it up with both their hands,
Did Gods people.

God sent Manna falling down.
Falling down, falling down.
God sent manna falling down.
For-his-people.
