1) Puzzles/word searches
I just stumbled across a great web site where you can create your own puzzles/word searches. These are great for expanding your lessons and for classroom management. I had fun creating a word search for my Noah's Ark lesson. I just typed in words relating to the story and the computer creates the word search.
I always make www.christiancrafters.com my first stop for ideas, but if you can't find exactly what you need you can create it yourself at www.school.discovery.com.

Sin Separates Craft
I just finished a week of VBS using Gospel Light's SonZone materials. It was a great week! I taught 1st grade and had 10 students. One of the projects in class was to show the children what separation from God was like. You take 4 clear plastic cups. Pour about 1/4 cup of vegetable oil in one cup, 1/4 cup light (clear) corn syrup in another cup (stir in a few drops of red food coloring and mix well), and 1/4 cup water colored with blue food coloring (make it very dark blue) in the 3rd cup. Do this ahead of time. When it is time to show the children explain that the oil represents God and pour it into the empty cup slowly, along the side. Then tell the children that the red mixture represents us, and pour this into the oil, slowly, along the side of the cup. Then tell the children that this is how close we were to God before we sinned. Tell them the blue mixture represents sin and watch how we become separated from God when we sin. Then pour the blue mixture into the cup, slowly along the side of cup. The blue mixture will settle between the oil and the corn syrup clearly showing the children how sin separates us from God. You may tell the children later how Jesus died to save us from our sins and then pour 1/4 cup of bleach slowly down the side of the cup. After about 10 or 15 minutes the bleach will have removed the blue food coloring from the water and the children can see how clean we are with the help of Jesus! My kids loved this! Good Luck!

I am going to be discussing Paul's unique road experience this coming

game or anything..or nothing. :-) Anyone have any ideas out there?

One way street sells Aluminum stages only and they are VERY expensive.

5) Patterns for paper flowers?
Christian Crafters our small rural Wisconsin church VBS is focusing on
the life and death of Jesus and for each of the 5 days of VBS we will be
looking to decorate a different tree that represent what Jesus did for
us. We are looking for patterns to make different types of paper flowers.
We would also like to make leaves of paper, but with a 3D effect, if
anyone has a pattern. These are to be placed on a tree branch to
symbolize the new life of/through Christ. Different types of crosses we could craft. These hang on the tree the day Jesus died for us, also hanging on that days tree will be sins that the children write on pieces of paper and then will be stamped with a
Red PAID stamp, to show Jesus dying for all our sins. We have approximately 15-20 children ranging from 4 to 12. All ideas are greatly appreciated. God Bless you.

6) Recruiting help
Reply to Sharon in California on recruiting help:
First, I suggest that you pray fervently for labourers. Ask that God show you who is to work with these little ones. Ask that they be willing to do the work of the Father. Ask that He give you wisdom in training and encouraging them. When approaching people have enthusiasm! Give them a personal invitation. Build them up saying why you think that they would be an asset to the children and program. Set up a time to talk with them and allow them to pray over it, seeking God's will. Also, I suggest that you begin to minister to the workers that you have. This is a big job and sometimes we forget to encourage those who work with us.
Build a team atmosphere and remember that little things go a long way. Thank you cards, things that say I appreciate you and the work you do. Even just really stopping to talk and see what's going on in their life. If they are in need of a release commit to pray with them and ask how things are going from time to time. When someone is down that can mean more than words can say.
Blessings,
Toni in Michigan

8) Bible Game for Jr. & Sr. high group:
Yulonda Smith of 'Living Holy Family Worship Center' in Greensboro, NC., has sent in a great game idea for Junior & Senior high groups, entitled, "Seeing God In Everything".
You can get the directions for the game in the 'Bible Games & Skits' section of my site. Check it out! Also, please pray for me this week as I will be interviewed by a Christian south Florida radio station, WRMB, on Wed., regarding SSTN and my ministry. It will be recorded, so I don't know what time they will air it yet.
Blessings,
