1) Activity for Women
I'm responding to Debbie McLean's request for Activity for Women:
I went to our local Library and looked up Women's programs or
Devotions and found several books. Even though our Library is rather
small, our Libraries are inter-connected so we can order a book that we
want but our Library doesn't have but another one in our state has.
Perhaps you might found something in your local Christian Bookstore
under Women's programs or devotions.
1) Sometimes I will use the Women's devotional books and pick out a
devotional. Using the same theme I will find a poem or other scripture,
song etc. to go with it.
2) Read a Christian magazine and then tell about the article.
3) Perhaps you could have a hymn sing and tell about the history of
that particular song. (I know that there are several books on that
topic)
4) Sometimes I will take a Children's Sunday School lesson on a topic
like Prayer and adapt it to adults.
I have quite a few programs and other ideas if you would e-mail me at
laredon@tusco.net
I would be glad to help you further, Debbie.

2) Activity For Women--A few web sites:
COBrowjan@aol.com
They send a CO Women's newsletter which I have
found devotional ideas in and then can add other things to it.
www.womensministry.net
They send a Women's Ministry Newsletter
which has different ideas on Mother & Daughter Banquets and other
socials for Women.
wft@associate.com
Good daily devotional that has good ideas that could be combined
with other poems etc.
www.women-of-faith.com
Women of Faith web site which has good ideas.
www.HomefiresHearth.com
This is also a newsletter that has poems, stories, recipes,
cleaning hints and other ideas. They have a good index
of all the topics. I was going to do a program on housecleaning and then
compare that to the fact that God wants to do housecleaning in our lives
also. I looked up housecleaning or spring cleaning and found several
good things.
Another idea would be to do a mini-Bible study on a character of the
Bible. Another idea would be to do a search and put in Devotionals, Women's
program or other such titles. I'm always looking for new program ideas and Installation programs since I'm a Pastor wife from Ohio. My husband serves 2 small Churches so
attend 2 ladies groups.

4) Model of the tabernacle?
I am in the planning process for creating a model of the tabernacle. I will
work with children from 3 to 13 years old. If anyone has any ideas I would
greatly appreciate it. We will be constructing each individual part of the
tabernacle then setting it up for display. If any one has done this before,
kindly e-mail me with ideas of what materials I could use etc.
Thanks & God Bless

5) Saul on the road
> I am going to be discussing Paul's unique road experience this coming
> week and am drawing a blank of something to do. It can be a craft or
> game or anything..or nothing. :-) Anyone have any ideas out there?
You could start in a dark room have someone shine a flash light -when
you get to the part about the light then have the children put on blind folds.
(Use knee socks, towel, etc for blind fold). Lead the children to another
part of the room blind folded and finish the story. They can get a feel
for what happened to Paul. Hope this helps. [Davis, Sherri]

6) Welcoming idea?
Our Church just hired a Youth and Family Director and we plan to
recognize her between services on her first Sunday with us but want to
do something else. We are very excited to have this position at our
Church and want to make her feel welcomed and a part of our Church
family. Does anyone have suggestions on something special we could do
for her? Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.
