1) New Beginnings New Year?

What "new beginning" Bible themes could be used
to bring in the New Year?

2) Idea for Bells Kids Sermon

To emphasize that it is 'Christ in you' that causes the bell to ring, take
the ringer, clacker, or ball in a jingle bell, out of one bell.  Show the
difference in a bell that can ring, and one that is silent.  It is Christ
in us that helps us to 'ring'!

3)  Bells Kids Sermon?

This post immediately reminded me of a Children's Sermon from Sermons 4
Kids.  The URL:  http://www.sermons4kids.com/jingle-bells.html

The description is almost identical.
Keep up the faith!

4) Disturbed by "Fun" Prayers

I was one of the people who responded with a fun prayer, that actually was
a Bible Verse found in Genesis.  I would much rather see the children that
I teach know that they can pray to a God that is approachable.  I
understand the viewpoint that God is to be reverence with the highest
respect.  I am pretty sure that God truly understands our motives when we
teach children to pray.  Thank you, RHM, for your insight, but please try
to understand ours, too.  Some children probably grow up in homes where
God is just a byword or slang.  By using "fun" prayers, we are teaching
them to thank God, not just to slight Him in any way.  The prayers that I
read did not seem sassy, and I don't feel in my heart that was the
objective in asking for different "fun" ways to teach CHILDREN to pray.  I
have taught every age group in church, from nursery to Senior Adult, and
it may surprise you that even senior adults smile when they hear children
say "God is great, God is good, let's us thank Him for our food, By His
hands we all are fed, Thank you, God, for daily bread".  Regarding the
other ones I read, I found no offensive slang or sassiness in any of
them.  Most of them were Biblically based, I thought.   Rest assured,
though, there may be many who did not see this issue to fun prayer as you
did, and that, too, is okay.  Just pray that God will use whatever it
takes to teach all of us how to approach Him.

Merry Christmas,
Theda Morrow

5) Happy Birthday Jesus

Debbie,
I love the idea for Happy Birthday Jesus! I teach 3rd and 4th grade
Sunday School and I was wondering what to do that day and now I know!
Thank you for the great idea.
My son 7, last year sent a happy birthday balloon to Jesus, it was SO
adorable. We tried attaching a small note but it was too heavy and
wouldn't go up in the air. I told him I think Jesus knows what your heart
is feeling and what was said on the note. Too sweet.

Thanks again for the great idea and Merry Christmas and many blessings to
you!
