What you need: A cylinder*, such as an empty cardboard roll; craft foam; tacky or hot glue; acrylic paint; brush; paper or card stock.
What you do: Cut 3/4" hearts from craft foam or purchase precut ones. (You can use different shapes for various occasions too, such as a 4-leaf clover for St. Patrick's Day, pumpkin shapes for Fall Festivals, or crosses for Easter, to name a few.) Glue the foam shape onto the center of the card board
cylinder, place them at one inch intervals. Have them face the same direction. Allow to dry. Apply a thin coat of paint to the foam shapes, then carefully roll out your design onto the paper. Apply only a slight amount of pressure. Use your Stamp Roller to decorate your own greeting cards, stationary, frames, placemats, or
to make borders on bulletin board.
*You could use an old rolling pin, if you don't mind gluing shapes on it.
Scripture Application: "God Is Love"
"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love. This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him. This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved us and sent his Son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another" 1 John 4:7-11.
Class LOVE Project
Fold white card stock paper in half to create greeting cards. Children decorate the outside using their heart
rollers and then write, "God is Love, and he loves YOU!" on the inside of the card. If possible, take the children on a field trip to deliver their "love notes" to a local retirement home or hospital.
