Directions
Copy patterns (pages 1-5) on pastel-colored card stock paper and then cut out egg shapes. You can use different colors for each page, or if you're playing in teams, use one color per team for each set of patterns.
How to Play
Scramble the eggs in the center of the playing area (or hide them). If playing in teams, assign teams their color.
At the go, first say the following clue, "Unscramble the eggs and then arrange the letters to spell out an ancient, two-sentence Easter greeting."
(Keep the answer a secret. The first player or team who correctly spells and shouts out, "He is risen. He is Risen
indeed!" wins.)
After the Game
Read Mark 16:1-8 and Luke 24:9-53 from a child-friendly Bible. Point out that the women and men began their day in sorrow until they met the resurrected
Christ. Jesus changed their sorrow over his death into celebration, which is why we even to this day when someone says, "He is risen!" We can joyfully respond, "He is risen indeed!"
Jesus' resurrection from the dead gives hope to the hopeless, help for the helpless, and salvation for sinners who trust in him!
