Whether it be for your Sunday school or midweek classes, there are a number of factors to consider when choosing
your Bible lesson plans or Sunday school curriculum for your children's
ministry, such as the age of the children, the ratio of teachers to
children, and most importantly the content! It is also necessary to consider the scope and sequence of
your Bible lessons
as the children progress through your program. We must use
our time well, teaching Bible lessons that give our children basic Scriptural
knowledge and that lead them to the Savior.
Bible lessons that include active student participation
through the use of Bible games, Christian
skits, and Bible crafts are
more successful at holding children's attention spans, as opposed to
a passive approach of using coloring and activity sheets to accompany your Sunday
school lessons.
Bible memorization must
also be at the forefront of our teaching efforts, helping kids live out the imperative,
"I have hidden your word in my heart that I might not sin against you" Psalm 119:11
(NIV).
Children can memorize just about anything without even trying. Don't believe me?
Just let them watch their favorite movie multiple times. Before long,
they will have memorized most of the dialogue--word for word! The same can be
done with Scripture memorization. It may seem daunting at first, but by using
repetition and coordinating Bible games and Christian crafts to reinforce the
Bible lesson, children will readily hide God's priceless treasure in their
minds and hearts.
We invite you to look through our Bible lesson plans;
they have been written with these ideas in mind. All of our Bible lessons
plans--Sunday school curricula have been tested and tried
in children's ministries since 1999, both large and small, by various
denominations, and all across the world.
