What you need: flour tortillas, cinnamon sugar, or various colored sugar sprinkles, food coloring diluted with water, cotton swabs, various Christian symbols (use cookie cutters, the Chrismon-Kids
symbols, or cut your designs freehand with a plastic knife.)
What you do: Using our Chrismon-Kids patterns, cut faith designs into the tortillas. Using your cotton swabs and diluted food coloring, paint the tortillas the desired colors. (Lightly wash with color, don't get the tortillas too wet.) Sprinkle with cinnamon sugar. Alternatively, color the tortillas using colored sugar sprinkles. Place on baking sheet and toast in the oven at 350 degrees for about 2-4 minutes. The crackers toast quickly. Be careful not to burn them. Remove when lightly browned. Allow to cool and eat.
Make
Faith Crackers using various Christian shapes. Chrismons are symbols of Christ or Christianity.
They are typically white and gold. Therefore, you could spread white frosting on
the tortilla shapes and shake gold sprinkles on them. Consider the following
Chrismon designs:
Butterfly- Resurrection hope. The butterfly symbolizes change, old life to new life.
"If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!" 2 Corinthians 5:17
Star of David- Also known as The Creation Star. It took God six days to create the universe. This star is formed by two interlocking triangles, which
symbolize the Trinity.
Shamrock Heart- The three hearts in the shamrock remind us of the love bestowed upon us by the Triune God. The shamrock was used by Saint Patrick to instruct about the Trinity. He would ask, "Is it one leaf or three?" His followers would respond, "It is
one. So it is with God!" he declared.
Heart- The universal symbol of love. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life" John 3:16.
